Home Depot Sarasota rented to us a heavy equipment trailer that specified in several places using a 2” ball.

However, the Home Depot trailer had a 2-5/16” hitch installed, despite the three stickers on the trailer saying 2".

The 2-5/16” hitch popped off the 2” ball and the trailer came back down on the lift gate causing material damage.

Fortunately, the trailer didn’t come off the ball during transportation on the road and cause a crash and injuries.

A claim filed in November 2024 has yet to be settled by Sedgwick Atlanta on behalf of Home Depot Sarasota.
